Portfolio Suggestions
Term 3 Portfolio due: June 18, 2010
Please include a VARIETY of samples some of which may include:
*please take note of required submissions: PE Log and Workhabits form. There are links provided to the forms needed. *A Music or Dance evaluation is required for those taking lessons from a third party instructor (links are provided below.)
Language Arts samples (4 or more)
A journal entry, a personal letter, poetry or story writing, activity sheets, workpages, tests or quizzes related to spelling or grammar, a reading log, if not participating in a reading interview – a recording of reading aloud or of a recitation , a list, a chart or a diagram, etc. *Those students who participate in Elluminate conferencing need to submit their novel study workbook 1072 plus the test that goes with it.
Math samples (4 or more)
Chapter or unit tests, workpages, speed drills, photos of hands-on math activities, a photocopy of the rules of a favorite math game, etc.
Science samples (2 or more)
(for those using my personal course designs please submit samples requested by the course – you may submit extra samples but this is not expected)
Chapter or units tests, Science note-booking, an experiment log, an observation or nature journal, diagrams or charts, a photo of student doing an experiment or on a field trip, a list of books related to Science, an audio or video recording presenting Science information, a mini report/project (written, pictorial, or oral), etc.
Social Studies samples (2 or more)
(for those using my personal course designs please submit samples requested by the course – you may submit extra samples but this is not expected)
Chapter or unit tests, a field trip journal (may include photos), a list of fiction and/or non-fiction books related to Social Studies topics, map work, a mini report/presentation (written, pictorial, or oral), an audio or video recording presenting Social Studies information, etc.
PE – Please include a PE Log - click here– a copy of a swimming report or photos of PE activities, etc.. may also be submitted
Fine Arts - 2 or more Visual Art creations (optional for students who are taking music or dance lessons) – may be originals or photos of art projects
Music/Dance: Audio or video recordings of music or dance performances. Teacher comments. A year end evaluation will be required for the third portfolio on June 18. Please download the necessary form and send or take it to your music/dance instructor ahead of time so it can be submitted with the 3rd portfolio.
Health and Career samples (1-2) Devotional or Bible study material, goal setting chart or sheet, anything (worksheets, journaling, mini projects, etc..) relating to health and career topics (i.e. nutrition, healthy living, safety, friendships, responsibilities in the home)
