We are all set to begin the new school year full of God’s grace and anticipated plans for us all. 

          Designed to be a green classroom, I have created myriad assignments in every subject on Microsoft Word.  In each subject folder you will find either a weekly planner (Math and Science) or an assignment folder.  Assignments are designed to support the text book in Social Studies, supplement the English PACEs and the Rosetta Stone Online curriculum; or meet all the Prescribed Learning Outcomes in an entire subject such as Health and Career Education or Visual Arts.

          A note on Fine Arts and Physical Education: it is now Ministry policy to accurately log where allocation funds are disbursed.  For this reason, all athletic coaches and/or artistic instructors are required to record student progress.  Fret not!  All evaluation forms are located in the P.E and Fine Arts folder 

          The most advantageous and invaluable tool for organizing my subject folders has been by using the “Hyperlink.”  This function allowed me to embed documents into assignments.

          In keeping with a green policy, I will be accepting all written assignments via email.  This will keep paper consumption and faxing expenses to a minimum.

          It is my hope that my students will find the planners and organizers easy to follow and use.  To ensure that students remain on task, weekly conference calls will continue.  Moreover, we have the option of using Anchor’s new Internet Elluminate classroom, where we will be able to connect corporately via the Internet, which will allow me to show visuals on the white screen available.

          Like you, I am also a home-schooling parent.  Working part-time with Anchor Academy offers me flexible hours and stability that suits my family atmosphere perfectly.  Please feel free to telephone during the school day from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm; and be sure that I will answer emails within 24 hours.
