Luisa Veres

K-7 & Special Education

I began teaching in 2018 and have found it to be some of the most fulfilling and truly meaningful work I’ve ever done! I always had a passion for teaching since I was a child and would play “schoolhouse” with my younger brothers. I feel incredibly blessed to finally be able to walk out this dream and teach alongside my husband, with the amazing Anchor Academy team, while grounding everything I do in my faith and my desire to help students grow with confidence and joy.

Teaching is a second career for both of us, and I love bringing the life experience we gained in Toronto’s Financial District, along with our travels, and volunteer initiatives, into the way I connect with families and support learning. I believe education is most powerful when it’s personalized, meaningful, and rooted in real life, that’s why I take the time to learn about each student—their interests, strengths, goals, areas for growth, and learning preferences—to help set them up for success and then watch them thrive!

If you value communication, flexibility, and a patient, encouraging approach that makes learning feel natural and joyful, then you will enjoy working with me! My passion rests in teaching elementary learners, children’s literature, and supporting students with special needs. When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me outdoors enjoying God’s creation through gardening, hiking, traveling, cooking, and hosting gatherings—anything that fills life with gratitude, connection, and purpose.
