K-7 & Special Education

I am so grateful to be part of the Anchor Academy team, where I have the privilege of working with K–9 students in both our mainstream and Inclusive Education (IE) programs. I love seeing each student thrive as their learning is ignited by their interests, their needs are supported, and their unique strengths are celebrated and developed.

Homeschooling and online schooling are deeply personal to me; I was a ‘pioneer’ homeschooler myself, completing K–12 on a rural farm in Alberta. After earning my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and teaching in the Edmonton Public School system, I moved to my husband’s hometown on Vancouver Island, BC, which we are proud to call home.

Outside of the classroom, I cherish time with my husband and our six children. Whether we are digging into God’s Word, hiking, or exploring the wonders of creation, I am at my happiest when we are active together. I also enjoy the rare quiet moment to paint or read, taking on DIY projects around the house, and, of course, the occasional relaxing day at the beach.
